The Pittston Township EMS has volunteers and part time providers with many different backgrounds from retail, attorneys and industry professionals.  There is nothing more personally rewarding than serving the community when its needed most.

Employment Offerings as of JULY 2022.

FULL TIME EMS PROVIDER – We are seeking to add full time EMS providers to our staff roster. We offer full healthcare, dental and eyecare coverage at no cost/copay for the employee (at the first day of the month after employment) in addition to paid time off holidays, 10 days personal time off annually (first year prorated based on hire date), jury duty and bereavement pay.  This offer will remain open until otherwise stated. PART TIME/ PER DIEM EMS PROVIDER – Seeking EMT’s/EVO’s to cover/work occasional open shifts. Request and do EMS shifts around your other life activities and obligations.  Schedules are posted monthly so you will be able to view openings and schedule to fit your needs.  Must have EMT, EVO, EMR credentials/certifications and all other required credentials/certifications to staff a BLS service.  Apply now!  Or please return to this link to view any updates.  

VOLUNTEER – Always seeking persons who may be interested in volunteering their time and talent in various capacities; must have EMT, EVO, EMR credentials/certifications for active response participation.  If you are without credentials/certifications, you can join our volunteer roster providing you will be entering a certification / training program within one year of acceptance.

RIDE ALONG – Not sure if Emergency Services is for you?  We offer a short-term program of 40 hours over an 8-week period.  Ride along as your personal time and schedule permits.

DRIVER - ATTENDANT / RIDE ALONG

Attendant – an entry level position learning EMS operations.  Train as an attendant (volunteer/non paid employment) learning CPR and first aid skills with hands on experience assisting professional staff members.  Not sure if emergency services is for you? We also offer short term “Ride Along” programs – 40 hours over an eight week period. Required minimum age 16. 

Driver – operate the vehicle for and during emergency responses*. Required drivers age 18.

*NOTE / IMPORTANTPennsylvania Department of Health regulation for an ambulance service requires that to be an EMS provider, you must possess certain certifications/license to comply with the license of an ambulance service.  Applicants for employment positions. It is necessary that the applicant already have PA DOH required certifications: Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher medical command credentials.   For persons not having credentials, we can assist with enrolling/locating training venues for the required courses to obtaining these certifications.

EMT / EVO EMPLOYMENT STAFFING

Become a state certified professional EMT.  Training includes intensive 160 hour course with candidate obtaining EMT certification upon successful completion.  Duties and responsibilities include active patient assessment and care in a pre-hospital setting continuing to a medical facility. Required EMT age is 18, full operations status.
